For those that have antique cars, classic cars, exotic cars or muscle
cars, it can be hard to know where to turn, when it is time to sell
them, advertise them or have them appraised. This is especially
important when you have an estate that needs to be settled. You might
know that you need the services of a professional automotive appraiser,
but selling them for the top dollar might leave you unsure where to
turn. It is important to get a proper appraisal, but it is also
important that you are able to sell them for that amount, when it is
time to liquidate the estate. You may need professional restoration
experts and detailing antique cars or exotic cars might make them worth
more, when it comes time to sell.
Appraising Antique Cars or Exotic Cars and Muscle Cars:
Depending on the type of antique cars or exotic cars you have, it might
be hard to know where to turn because anybody can call themselves a
property appraiser. When you are faced with estate items that are of
great value in the automotive or marine industries, you want an
appraiser that specializes in antique cars, exotic cars, muscle cars,
boats or motorcycles to get the most knowledgeable valuations. Even
estates that include aircraft will require appraisers that are
knowledgeable in the rarer and harder-to-find specimens. There are
reputable organizations that represent a wide array of qualified
professionals to meet all of your estate needs.
It's possible to find antique car clubs that specialize in the classics
or antique cars and some car shows will feature experts that are
knowledgeable in the appraisal of exotic cars, muscle cars, antique
motorcycles and restorations or detailing. When it comes to classic
boats or aircraft, it helps to find expert appraisers that specialize in
these particular niches, as well. There are professionals in the
appraising business that can do an accurate appraisal in these
particular niches.
Ways To Sell Antique Cars or Exotic Cars and Other Valuable Estate
Items:
There are several ways to sell antique cars or exotic cars and even
muscle cars and classic cars have a specific target market, when you are
ready to sell. In fact, some of the same sources that might appraise
them may have connections to help you sell them, as well. This includes
classic car clubs or antique car show exhibitors, but using the Internet
has become a popular way to sell your valuable estate items for the top
dollar. Whether you are selling antique cars, exotic cars, classic cars
or muscle cars, motorcycles, boats or aircraft, you can reach a
worldwide marketplace.
There are estate provider resources that represent providers and
members. They can offer wide exposure through print, online advertising,
press releases, marketing at antique and trade shows or help you get
more exposure for your unique estate items through high search engine
rankings. With your own web page, you can also get mentioned in the
monthly blog and have your website link incorporated to increase
traffic. This is a good way for those in the business of buying and
selling antique cars or exotic cars to get top exposure and individual
estates can be connected to the professionals that can help appraise and
sell for top dollar.
Restoring Or Detailing Brings Top Dollar For Antique Cars, Exotic
Cars And Muscle Cars:
Anybody that restores classic cars as a hobby can tell you what a
difference restoration can make in the resale or appraisal value. There
are many collectors of antique cars, exotic cars and muscle cars that
aren't interested in restoring them, but detailing cars that are already
restored is an added touch that can bring top dollar, when you are
selling to this collector market. There are many professional
restoration and detailing companies that specialize in classic cars, but
you can also have your boats and aircraft detailed and restored to bring
the best resale value. Of course, antique cars and exotic cars aren't
the only estate assets that can benefit from restoration or detailing
because there are many advantages to consider, whether you plan to hold
on to them for awhile or sell them for top dollar.
Use Professionals In Appraisal, Selling, Restoring and Detailing:
No matter whether you need a professional appraisal, need to find your
target market to sell to or you are looking for professional restoration
or detailing, it is important to find professionals in these particular
occupations. Through a reliable estate resource, you can find the best
providers of these services and it can help you get top dollar for your
valuable estate items, whether it is antique cars, exotic cars, muscle
cars or classic cars. Of course, boats and aircraft are items that are
found in estates and these professionals can help you get top dollar for
those, as well.
If you are in the business of buying or selling estate sale items
through an antiques gallery or art gallery, you might have a need for a
wide and varied network of estate providers. Many of the businesses that
specialize in the estate business might be owners of an antiques gallery
or an art gallery, because there are many estates that include antique
furniture, fine art and sculptures, along with other antiques, like rare
books, antique rugs, historic trunks, collector stamps, exotic fabrics
and even collectible handbags. Finding the professionals that are
skilled in estate property appraisals, finding the most effective way to
sell antiques and art, along with a website that uses the high search
engine rankings to move your goods, can be valuable resources.
Network of Professionals In The Estate Business
If you are the owner of an antiques gallery or art gallery, you know how
important it can be to your business to find estates that have valuable
collector items. It can also be helpful to have a network of estate
providers that can help you find these valuable items, do an appraisal
of them or help you sell them for a profit. Whether you own an antiques
gallery or art gallery, finding the best antiques or the most valuable
fine art can require the help of estate professionals that have access
to them across the nation. With the Internet, there is a network of
estate providers that are professionals who specialize in these fields
and other estate services that can be helpful to your business.
Using A Website That Generates Traffic To Your Antiques Gallery or
Art Gallery:
When you become a member of a valuable estate provider network, you can
enjoy a website that generates Internet traffic with high search engine
rankings, which can help you buy and sell antiques and fine art or
collectibles, much easier. In addition, antiques gallery owners or art
gallery owners can enjoy wide exposure to potential clients through
consistent print, online advertising, press releases, marketing at
antique and art shows, and new members get mentioned in the monthly blog
letter, along with a link to their website.
Expanding Your Marketing Efforts With Estate Provider Networks:
An affordable estate provider network that charges a low annual fee,
with no set-up fees can benefit your antiques gallery or art gallery.
There are no pay-per-click or commission fees. In fact, you can
advertise other places, including other websites, directories and other
media. Your membership provides you an additional way to get exposure,
but it doesn't limit your marketing, like some other resources might do.
If you are an owner of an antiques gallery or art gallery, this can
provide easy access to buyers and sellers alike, besides helping you
find professionals that can help your business grow or can offer you
valuable advice. Expanding your marketing efforts through more exposure
to your target markets is a valuable resource that all antiques gallery
or art gallery owners should take advantage of.
Keep Up With The Latest Estate Provider News:
If you are active in buying and selling antique furniture, rare books,
fine art and sculptures and other collectibles, it is helpful to have a
resource that offers valuable advice, whether you are an antiques
gallery or art gallery and even rare book and antique furniture dealers
can find it beneficial. Through staying connected with the estate
provider network, you also have access to the latest news in the estate
provider industry. Collectors and dealers alike are members and
providers of services in the estate industry and find it a valuable
resource. Those that are owners of an antiques gallery or an art gallery
will find it is a great way to keep up with the latest estate provider
news or reach a large target market.
Discount Prices On Customized Web Design And Maintenance:
You are provided with a basic contact web page with your membership that
also includes your logo, but you can enjoy a discounted price on a
customized website or discounts on the maintenance of your existing
website. Because the estate provider network has many professionals that
are part of the network, antiques gallery or art gallery owners will
find there are many other discounts that might be available from the
members, because the estate resources network represents a wide array of
qualified estate professionals that offer other valuable business
services, as well. When you own an antiques gallery or art gallery,
finding these valuable resources is an important part of becoming more
successful.
For those that are diamond dealers and gold buyers, estate jewelry
provides a steady stream of clients, but with the increasing gold and
diamond prices, fine jewelers and antique jewelry dealers have become a
growing sector in the estate provider network. Many estates might
include antique jewelry. Estate jewelry has always attracted the
interest of jewelry buyers, diamond dealers and gold buyers, but it is
becoming more common that fine jewelers and antique jewelry dealers are
involved in estates by participating in estate jewelry liquidations and
offering jewelry appraisals.
The Reason For This Trend Is Simple:
Fine jewelers and antique jewelry dealers have always been participants
in finding the finer and more expensive jewelry that might be offered
through estate sales. Because there is a growing trend in antique
jewelry for wedding rings and engagement rings, and finding the least
expensive gold and diamonds is important to all jewelers with higher
prices on gold and diamonds, this trend is more obvious, as of late,
because many estates have some of the older, high quality diamonds and
precious metals. There are many estates that have estate jewelry to be
auctioned and the antique jewelry dealers and fine jewelers are being
called on to appraise jewelry, as well as purchase the jewelry, if it
meets their standards. With the Internet, there are better ways to
communicate information throughout the estate industries, including the
jewelry buyers that are involved in estate jewelry.
Estate Providers Network For The Jewelry Industry:
There are many estate providers in the network that are in the jewelry
industry, whether they are antique jewelry dealers, diamond and gold
buyers or fine jewelers. Any jewelry buyers that might have an interest
in the valuable jewelry at an estate sale might be called on by those
that need evaluations done or those that are looking to settle an estate
might see if they have an interest in their estate jewelry. Through an
estate provider network, fine jewelers, antique jewelry dealers and the
diamond buyers and gold buyers can get wide exposure to potential
clients through a variety of media advertising, including print, online
advertising, and the high search engine ranking website.
Jewelry Appraisals By Diamond Buyers and Gold Buyers:
Many estates need the services of professional jewelry appraisers and
there have always been diamond buyers and gold buyers that have provided
the service. More fine jewelers and antique jewelry dealers are
providing professional jewelry appraisals to estates that contain
heirloom and finer jewelry. Because the estate provider network offers
increased exposure, network members enjoy better results from this
valuable resource. For the fine jewelers or antique jewelry dealers that
are part of the estate provider network, it helps to increase business.
With a contact web page that features your logo, clients can find you
and you get more promotion. The estate provider network provides
discounts on website design and maintenance, as well, so it is a
consideration for the fine jewelers or antique jewelry dealers that have
an interest in better search engine results to increase their business.
Advertising For The Fine Jeweler Or Antique Jewelry Dealer:
Besides your own contact web page, an estate provider network offers a
number of other advertising methods, including press releases, marketing
at antique and trade shows and other online advertising options. You
only pay a low annual fee and no set-up fee. You don't have to pay
commissions or pay any of the click-through advertising fees, and you
are free to advertise with any other sources you want, like directories,
other websites, tradeshows and other marketing resources because you
aren't restricted. The high search engine ranking webpage of an estate
provider network helps to drive traffic to your website, and can
increase your requests for estate jewelry appraisals, or bidding
opportunities, if you are a fine jeweler, antique jewelry dealer or a
jewelry, gold or diamond buyer.
Antique Jewelry Buyers and Those Looking For the Best Deals On Estate
Jewelry:
Finding the best deals on diamonds and gold are something that more
individual buyers are looking for. They might need the help of fine
jewelers or antique jewelry dealers to evaluate the estate jewelry they
are interested in. With the Internet, more jewelry buyers are able to
find better buys on estate jewelry and need the services of antique
jewelry dealers, gold buyers, diamond buyers or fine jewelers, when they
are looking for the best prices on antique jewelry and fine jewelry.
They will often search estate provider networks to find the jewelers
they need to help them evaluate or appraise the jewelry for them.
Exposure to your target market is important in the estate jewelry
industry.
With the increase in popularity of reality TV shows such as Pawn
Stars and Antiques Roadshow, a swell of curiosity has arisen on
who a personal property appraiser is and what they do. The
impact for those appraisers on the front line is mostly
positive. Certainly, a more enthusiastic and educated customer
is a good thing, but whenever money is involved, you can be sure
there are unscrupulous appraisers seeking to take advantage. The
following guide will act as useful primer to those seeking to
learn more about personal property appraisers.
Who can be a Personal property appraiser?
Anyone - at least in the United States. That is to say, anyone
may call themselves a personal property appraiser, although this
is certainly no guarantee of ability or experience. There are
certificate programs available for personal property appraisers;
one of the more well known is through the University of Georgia
(in a partnership with the American Society of Appraisers) that
covers topics such as research and analysis, and offers courses
targeted to distinct groups, such as antique appraisers and art
appraisers. It must be said that knowledge in one area of
appraisal does not necessarily translate into expertise in
another. As with any profession that requires specialized
knowledge, personal property appraisers tend to delineate
themselves into specific niches e.g. antique appraisers, art
appraisers, furniture appraisers. You would be well advised to
select an appraiser that fits your specific needs.
How do you find and select an appraiser?
Nowadays, most appraisal services are listed online. If you are
lucky, and the business has been around long enough, there may
be consumer reviews on sites such as Yelp or Yellowpages. Once
you have refined your search to a few possible candidates, speak
to the appraiser directly - you will best be able to judge
whether the person you will be working with will be suitable for
your needs.
What is the usual fee for personal property appraisal?
Fees could range anywhere from $50 to $500 or higher, depending
on the services required (assuming this is an item of high
value; less valuable items, such as those that might be taken to
a pawn shop, can be assessed for less). However, all reputable
personal property appraisers will explain costs ahead of time,
whether it be a flat fee or an hourly rate. Generally speaking,
most appraisals will be a flat fee; but items that require
extensive research or follow-up work may require additional
fees, usually in the form of an hourly rate. Be wary of any
property appraiser who charges a percentage of the profits from
sale as their fee.
Why would you use a Personal property appraiser?
Any number of reasons. Insurance is probably the most common
reason, although appointing an antique appraiser for an upcoming
sale is not uncommon. After all, it is much easier to get a good
price for something if you know what it is worth. Curiosity is
also a common driver - a way to find out more about a family
heirloom, for instance. Other possibilities are marriage/divorce
agreements, tax value for donations, or if you were using the
property to be appraised as collateral for a loan. Only you can
decide if obtaining the services of personal property appraisal
is right for you, although there is certainly no shortage of
evidence to suggest that for quite valuable items, the service
of a quality antique appraiser, for instance, more than pays for
itself.
What is involved in the appraisal process?
First you will need to make contact with the selected personal
property appraiser. At this time, you will need to explain what
is to be appraised, and why; hiring an antique appraiser to
assess the value of an antique doll for sale, for example, is a
vastly different process than what would be required for an art
purchase that may have legal ramifications. Once the initial
consultation is complete, a personal inspection of the item(s)
to be appraised will be performed. A very few items can be
appraised via photograph, but the vast majority will require an
appraiser to be physically present. He or she will determine
condition, check for tell-tale marks or signatures (if
applicable), and begin any research that may be required. If you
have any authenticating documents, this is a good time to make
them known. In order to assist in the physical appraisal, make
sure the items to be appraised are easily accessible (uncovered,
away from walls, able to be viewed from all angles). One the
appraiser has finished his or her research, they will present
you with a Personal Property Report, which will contain a
description of the items appraised, how they were appraised
(methodology), and the decision of value.
What if I disagree with the appraiser's decision?
By all means, obtain a second opinion. First, though, if there
is a specific reason why you believe the valuation should have
been different, discuss this with the appraiser. You will save
time and money by disclosing all information ahead of time,
however. If after discussing the matter with the appraiser, if
you still feel the appraisal was incorrect, there is nothing
stopping you from reaching out to another qualified
professional. It would be advantageous to disclose the original
Personal Property Report to the second appraiser, as this will
be invaluable to them in determine where a possible mistake may
have been made.
Where can I find a local Personal property appraiser?
References from family and friends are always a fine way to
select any service, but barring that, searching for online
reviews can be valuable (be wary of spoof review sites though).
There are also established appraiser organizations such as
American Society of Appraisers, the Appraisers Association of
America and the Palm Beach Appraisers Association. The Palm
Beach Appraisers Association in particular is a prestigious
